Castlemaine Art Museum (CAM) was founded in 1913. Our nationally-significant collection comprises over 6,000 art works and historical items from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. The art collection focuses on Australian artists. The historical collection reflects the history, commercial and social life of central Victoria, with many items relating to the Goldfields era and municipal history of Castlemaine. CAM’s corporate records document our history, and include personal correspondence from significant Australian artists, patrons and public figures.
